NSW: Accused wanted cash from alleged murder victim - court

A Sydney court's heard a man accused of murdering luxury car dealer BOB LJUBIC was
heavily in debt .. and wanted to extort money.

A witness only known as X .. who's admitted to helping in an alleged plot to kidnap
Mr LJUBIC .. has told the NSW Supreme Court 34-year-old JASON CLIVE MCCALL owed 100 thousand
dollars.

MCCALL'S standing trial for the murder of Mr LJUBIC .. whose body was found in waters
off the southern Sydney suburb of Kurnell in March 2005 .. five days after he disappeared.

X says he was kidnapped .. bashed and interrogated by a gang of men .. after stealing
two Porsches from Mr LJUBIC'S car dealership .. in the harbourside suburb of Mosman in
the mid-1990s.

He says he wanted to get even with Mr LJUBIC .. but denies the kidnap plan involved
him being killed.

The hearing's continuing.
