Vic: Premier trades barbs with PM

MELBOURNE, Feb 26 AAP - Victorian Premier Steve Bracks today upped the ante in a simmering
war of words with Prime Minister John Howard, labelling him vindictive and Sydney-centric.

Mr Bracks defended his government after Mr Howard repeatedly attacked union power and
its effect on the Victorian economy.

"I think you can see through the agenda," Mr Bracks said.

"This is a prime minister who is in election footing and it's pretty obvious what he's doing."
